....spelling errors on the topic headers?.

how much effort does it take to check your spelling before you post a topic??.

just read over some of the topics up for discussion right now and you'll see a very shocking (to me, at least) disregard for accuracy.. if you can't trouble yourself to get your spelling right how are the rest of us going to respect the fact you have your reasoning right either??.

dear friends,.

much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.

however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.

there was a period of time between judaism, (messianic judaism, christian-judaism and, finally,) christianity in which violent arguments over who/what jesus was vis a vis deity took place.. one of the reasons for writing down the oral traditions was to solidify certain positions and "prove" a particular opinion by representing those opinions as from a higher source.

after all, the jews were the "people of the book" and no greater authority could be referenced in an argument over orthodoxy than what was "written".. eventually hundreds (if not thousands) of messiah stories, jesus stories were circulated; each with yet more powerful representations of who or what his personage revealed as to nature and importance.

the names of important men became attached to these writings to bolster their authority and authenticity.

she and her husband had almost been married 25 years, and we had known her longer than that.
